Mark & Denise- The Wedding Day (Best of)

The Day of the wedding. We got up, had breakfast etc- nothing to taxing or eventful. There may have been a sore head or two from the night before, but generally, everyone was quite sensible. It was an afternoon wedding, so a little time to recover for those that did- also, Denise & Mark had provided every guest with their own packet of Alka Seltza just in case. No photos to speak of for breakfast, so onto the big event- the wedding!

The bride’s maids waiting for the bride.

Mary- getting front row seat. I think she wants to make sure Denise is given away properly.

Denise arrives- but I can’t get a good shot because of the pesky photographer. Denise looks fab, and the bride’s maids are on the case.

These two scrub up well when they need to. why’s everyone taking my photo though?

Hugo asks Kev to pull his finger. Kev knows better.

John pulled his finger, and regrets it immediately.

One of my favourite photos from the wedding! Deirdie & Poppy. Poppy’s dressed up, and trying really hard to steal the limelight.

A proper wedding photo.

How proud does Joe look? How nervous is Denise? Why did I chop Rebecca’s face off?

Poppy decided that she didn’t want to stay for the service- or at least, she was only staying if she got to shout and run around. I took Poppy for a walk, and eventually found the balcony. It’s all in this shot- bride & groom, the priest, the videographer (Video Jack- if I find his URL he gets a free plug on this site). John is singing to guitar in this shot.

Still trying to upstage Denise.

Here’s where I made my big mistake. The camera was still set for indoor lighting, and when I went outside I was too busy chasing Poppy to reset it to auto. As a result, I buggered up a bunch of the photos- they all turned out blue- and only look good when converted to black and white. Still, I got some cool shots, if you don’t mind monochrome.

Still trying to upstage Denise- but nobody’s watching.

Is it just me, or is there a passing resemblance to Stan Laurel?

The weather turned out fine- it was just the forecast that said rain. Check out the Boy Scouts/ Girl Guides who came prepared! (Lynne, Andy and Father Ed- Dib Dib Dib!)

Still trying. Still, nobody watching.

Still working it, and at last! An admiring glance.

Deirdre & Maire.

No. It’s not Poppy they’re photographing. Denise & Mark are getting ‘Paparazzi’ style treatment.

A proper wedding photograph. See! I could be a wedding photographer!

OK- maybe not. Notice the perfect exposure in the photo of the door behind them, then the rest of the photo over-exposed and burnt to white. Luckily I have a day job.

Mary at the hat convention.

“Perhaps if I stand by the Bride, some one will NOTICE ME!!”
