{"id":239,"date":"2009-11-08T14:46:54","date_gmt":"2009-11-08T13:46:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.notnick.com\/cookbook\/?p=239"},"modified":"2020-03-01T00:17:43","modified_gmt":"2020-02-29T23:17:43","slug":"cornish-pasty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.notnick.com\/cookbook\/cornish-pasty\/","title":{"rendered":"Cornish Pasty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For 4 good sized Cornish Pasties<\/p>\n<p>500g strong bread flour<br \/>\n120g lard<br \/>\n25g cake margarine<br \/>\n5 gms salt<br \/>\n175 gms cold water<\/p>\n<p>Pastry<br \/>\nMix fat lightly into flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.<br \/>\nAdd water and mix until pastry clears and becomes elastic.<\/p>\n<p>Leave to rest for 3 hours in a refrigerator<\/p>\n<p>FILLING<\/p>\n<p>450g good quality beef skirt<br \/>\n450g potatoes ( a firm waxy potato such as Maris piper.)<br \/>\n250g Swede<br \/>\n200g onion<br \/>\nSalt &amp; pepper<br \/>\nbutter<\/p>\n<p>slice the filling finely then add to the rolled out circles of pastry raw. Layer the vegetables and meat adding plenty of seasoning.
