Down but not out

The sharper visitors to the site may have noticed that notnick.com stopped working for a few days. Lycos, my former web-host have decided to get out of the web hosting business. They’re not making enough money out of me apparently. So, I got notice from them that they would not be renewing the contract, and I should shove off and find another host.

They even passed on an offer, from another host, Strato. So, I moved. I thought part of the deal was that they moved the files over. I read it wrong. They moved the email addresses over, yes, but not the files. D’oh. So, whilst away on holiday, the site fell over.

Anywho, I’m pleased to announce Strato are the lucky new hosts of notnick.com – woo!

New Year’s Day

With good intentions on New Year’s Day all four of us set out for an afternoon walk. After about 10 minutes in the car Poppy & Joe were sleeping, and Deird wasn’t far off.  So instead, we just drove around enjoying the scenery (and the warm comfort of the car) for a couple of hours.

Eventually, Poppy woke up. We were close to South Queensferry,  so Poppy & I took a very short walk along the seafront, whilst Joe and Deird snoozed in the car.

Here’s Poppy at the lifeboat station slipway in South Queensferry- with the bridge behind her for effect. Even in this weather (1 degree C) it was dificult to stop her from paddling.

And yes, they are socks on her hands. They stay on better than gloves, and she tries to take them off less.

Twas the week before Christmas

Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the flat
Not a creature was stirring, not even the toy cat;
The stockings were hung by the cot with care,
And the Grandparents visited with presents to share.

OK, enough- we had a mini-christmas with presents for Poppy & Joe. My folks visited overnight, and a good time was had.

Poppy is getting the hang of present opening, and I think will be in her element for next Christmas!

Poppy Hides.

Poppy hid today. It was her bed time, so she hid to avoid going. Now, usually she hides behind a chair, but in this photo observe a new hiding tactic at play.

I actually walked past her twice- I was looking under the chair. She also didn’t respond to the usual question:

“Poppy, are you hiding in here?”

“No Daddy.”
