Gingerbread (‘Invicta flour’ recipe)

9oz plain flour
4oz butter
4oz sugar
2 eggs
1 -1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/2 cup syrup & treacle (mix to taste)
1tsp baking soda
1/2cup boiling water
pinch salt

cream butter & sugar, add eggs then dry ingredients, add water to syrup and mix

turn into 7″ square tin and bake for 1 – 1/14 hrs
