Boys names in England & Wales

So. Nearly May. What are we going to name junior? I thought I’d have a look at the office for national statistics, and here it is- the top 100 boys names since 2003.

I still like Charlie as a name, but just can’t. We just can’t have “C” as an initial. I like Leon as well- or at least I liked the film “Leon”. As a name? Hmm.

Jack is a popular name, and I like the idea of telling my son in years to come that all of his friends know Jack. Any name suggestions anyone? Continue reading “Boys names in England & Wales”

Poppy Walks!

Over the last week or so, Poppy has been taking a few unsupported steps- going from one prop to another- but yesterday, I think, yeterday, she walked! Okokok not far, but see the video below.

She’s definitely getting the hang of it- although the action is more chimp than chic right now- (hands over the head, sideways wobble.)

Dude!

Deirdie and I had another scan today to check little junior is doing ok. We also wanted to find out if we’re having a a boy or girl. We now know.

We didn’t know before Poppy arrived. We wanted to, but she was being very coy on the day of the scan. But with number 2- we do. Cool.

 Good things about this:

  1. We can buy the right ‘colour coded’ baby clothes in advance.
  2. We can think about names ahead of the birth.
  3. We could deccorate rooms/furniture ready for junior’s arrival.
  4. There’s no surprises.

Bad things about this:

  1. We will now probably buy up the full contents of Mothercare before the birth.
  2. We have ages to ague and disagree about names.
  3. I may have to deccorate.
  4. There’s no surprises.

So what are we having? Boy or Girl. It’s all in the title.
